There are many new instances in the World of Warcraft:Wrath of the Lich King (WotLK), some of them you need to travel a long distance to reach, others are located right underneath your nose. The Violent Hold is an instance in much the same vein as the Stockades in Stormwind, it is the cities prison. Also similar to the Stockades, the instance has been overrun by the bad guys. As mentioned, the instance itself can be found right inside the city of Dalaran. When you first find it, it will be locked. However, all you need to do is to be level 75 and accept a simple quest and you will gain access. Once inside you are greeted by a stark looking prison hall. There is a large common area in the centre with cells along the ground and balcony level. In the cells are various prisoners locked behind magical barriers. Kirin Tor guards are fighting off blue dragonflight attackers on the steps in front of you.

The main hall, balcony and cells comprise the entire instance. That's right, one room is all you get here. Once you talk to the NPC at the front door as you walk in the instance starts, and it is very similar to the Caverns of Time: Black Morass instance. The instance is comprised of 18 waves of enemies that spawn through portals that appear around the area. The 6th and 12th waves are not spawned but instead they are two random mini-bosses released from the cells. The 18th wave is the final boss, the blue dragon Cyanigosa.

To start the instance, you simply talk to Lieutenant Sinclari at the door and she will pull the guards out and lock and seal the door behind her. Portals start opening and the waves then start, at which point you must start defending the door's seal. Each portal will spawn one of three possible guardians: a caster, a warrior, or a group of four elites. In addition to the guardians the portal will occasionally spawn other creatures that will make their way to the doorway and try to break the seal.

The tanks job for each wave is to grab the guardians and hold them. DPS should work on the guardian as much as possible, while switching over to any additional creatures that are spawned. The additional creatures (adds) should go down fairly quickly with even just a single DPSer on them. If the person assigned to the adds gets behind they should call for help. You have a few minutes to deal with each wave before the next portal opens. If you are quick you will have time to rest, eat and drink in between waves, if not, you could end up with multiple portals open at a single time.

Once you have completed 5 portals you move onto the first of the random bosses. When the 6th and 12th wave starts a saboteur emerges from a portal and runs to one of the cells to set a prisoner free, you can not stop the saboteur. There are six possible bosses that you could get. They are Erekem (an Arakkoa), Ichoron (a water elemental), Lavanthor (a core hound), Moragg (a beholder), Xevozz (an ethereal), and Zuramat (a void lord).

The first possible boss, Erekem, is an Arakkoa bird man that spawns additional creatures to assist him. Erekem and both adds are able to cast bloodlust which ups their damage output. It can de dispelled though, so players need to watch for it and remove it. In addition if both the adds die before Erekem is defeated then Erekem will enrage boosting his damage output and attack speed significantly.

The trick to defeating Erekem is for the tank to hold him and his adds in one place, then kill one of the adds, then kill Erekem. The whole time removing bloodlust any time it is cast. If the tank is geared well enough, you can leave both of the adds up, however it lowers damage taken by removing one early.

The second of the possible bosses is Ichoron, a water elemental. When you fight him at intervals he breaks apart and has pieces flung all over the room. These parts them start moving back towards his body in the center. You need to kill as many of these pieces as possible as each piece that gets back to hi body heals him. If they all get back they will restore almost all of his lost health. It is a very different kind of fight having players running all over to track down the elemental bits of him.

The third possible boss that can spawn is Lavanthor, which is a core hound pulled from the Molten Core. Lavanthor is a fairly easy boss as his main ability is a flame breath with a front arc. All the tanks needs to do is face him away from the party, the healer will then have a fairly simple job since the tank will be the only player tanking damage.

The fourth of the possible bosses that you could fight is Moragg, who is a giant beholder. For those unfamiliar with a beholder he is the same as the large floating eye boss from Hellfire Ramparts. While he can be tanked, he also has a mindflay ability that targets a random player in the group. The damage increases the longer he casts the spell and you just have to heal through it.

The fifth of the bosses is Xevozz, who is an imprisoned ethereal. When he is released he summons an arcane orb that assists him. Both Xevozz and the orb have separate attack tables so could go after different targets. The orb has two abilities, it can place a magic debuff on its target that increases the arcane damage that they take and it can summon everyone to it and then attack with an arcane explosion that hits everyone nearby. Xevozz attacks players with an arcane missile volley but can be tanked.

The tactics for this fight are to kite the orb around so that it is away from as many people as possible, while killing Xevozz. If you have have a tank that can absorb the damage and a healer that can keep up you can simply hold both and drop the boss.

The last of the possible bosses you can get is Zuramat the Obliterator, who is a giant void lord. Zuramat is a very interesting fight since he summons additional creatures (adds) that you can only damage once you have been hit by Zuramat. The summoned creatures volley the party with damage every few seconds, which will keep the healer busy.

The boss himself hits players with a shadow based damage over time (DoT) effect that lasts for 10 seconds, while affected by this DoT you can see and hurt the additional summoned creatures. While a player is affected by the debuff they need to target and kill the adds as quickly as possible. To get affected by the debuff you must stand in the shadow spots where the damage is coming from. The best strategy seems to be killing the adds as soon as you can, however if you have a strong healer and DPS you can ignore the adds and down Zuramat through fast hard DPS.

Once you have defeated the boss that spawns for wave six you get a brief break. The waves then restart and you fight your way through them until the 12th wave, which will be another of the six random bosses. You will not get the same boss that you just defeated as his cell will now be empty. Once you defeat the second boss, you once again get a quick break and then continue on through additional waves. The waves at this point are mainly groups of four elites, although this could have been random. Once the 17th wave has been defeated the last boss will spawn.

The last boss in the instance is the blue dragon Cyanigosa, who is in charge of the assault on the prison. Cyanigosa will appear in the middle of the main prison area in her human form and then transform into her dragon form. While she does give a speech it is short so the tank needs to be ready to grab her when she finishes. She has a few abilities such as a blizzard spell that she casts on the tank, a frost breath attack, and a summon ability.

Her frost breath attack hits everyone in her front arc, and her blizzard is always targeted on the tank. This means that the tank must face her away from the party and mover her backwards or sideways any time she casts blizzard. This will keep incoming damage lower and focused only on the tank. Anytime she uses the summon ability, the rest of the party it pulled in front of her, so they simply need to run through her to their original positions again.

Once you have defeated Cyanigosa, Lieutenant Sinclari re-enters the prison and can be spoken to at the front door. The instance at this point is finished.

If you are a player that liked the Black Morass instance then this instance will appeal to you. It is basically a Black Morass without the need to clear the swamp trash before starting. The Violet Hold is a great little instance for something to do to gain experience or just practice your class. Being located right in the city of Dalaran, and being insanely fast to complete (less than 30 minutes), it makes it an ideal distraction from questing. Any time you pop into the city between the levels of 74 and 76 you can find a group and run through it to gain a quick bit of experience. It also has some pretty good gear as drops. In particular as a tank you will likely want to grab the Riot Shield and Cloak that drop there as they will serve you well until level 80.

Wrath of the Lich king has landed and the World of Warcraft has changed. There are new talents, new builds, new gear, new areas to explore, and so on, but one of the areas that hasn’t changed much is in the wow gold making techniques.

Gathering is unchanged, except for discovering the new things to gather. Demand for green drops from mobs will probably be strong for awhile since much of it is better than the epic stuff people had at level 70. Certain crafted items (especially glyphs) will sell very well and the materials to make the popular enchants and crafted items will sell very well. The only real difference here will be in exactly which crafts and enchants are popular.

So here are my guesses for wow gold earning in Wrath. Keep in mind that prices will drop as more and more people start farming Northrend.

Skinning – As always, skin everything you can. Sell the scraps, too. Keep an eye on the Auction House for which skins sell best and which hot crafting recipes require those skins. Find areas where people are just grinding away for XP and skin everything they kill.

Mining – Cobalt and Titanium await you. Engineering, Blacksmithing, and Jewelcrafting will create a demand for these ores and that demand should stay strong for a long time. Cobalt look like it’s going for almost 50g for a 5 stack at the moment, on Bloodscalp. Mining should be interesting on the PvP servers…

Herbalism – Now that Wrath of the Lich King is here people will get back to raiding, which will require the usual collection of potions, created from the various herbs that you will be picking. Plus there’s Inscription, which has driven the price of herbs way up, since the inscription ink come from herbs.

Right now the prices for Northred herbs are truly grim, 20-40 wow gold per herb. With much of the playerbase arriving in Northrend, gathering away, I don’t think Northrend herbs will stay at that price for long, which is great for scribes, but less great for herbalists. With herbs at 20 gold a stack it costs about 4 or 8 gold to make one glyph. With herbs at 300 gold a stack…

Outland herbs, which have been cheap for some time now, might go up as the gatherers head to Northrend. If Northrend herbs are selling at 100 gold a stack, right now, how many stacks can you farm? As always, check prices on the Auction House first.

Fishing and cooking – Some fish will likely be needed for Alchemy, as well as for cooking, and some might turn out to do interesting things (such as Savory Deviate Delight.) Of course, certain foods are in demand for the buffs they provide and those foods should sell well.

Looting – As usual, keep a close eye on any white or better items you loot in your day to day monster mashing. Some of these items will be valuable. Send them to your banker to sell, don’t vendor them.

Limited items – I have no doubt that there will be a number of new “limited items” appearing on various vendors. Keep an eye on these as several might sell for a very nice profit on the Auction House. Make your own list of “limited item” vendors as you travel the new lands.

Speaking of the Auction House… This really is the area where people can make some serious wow gold. There are two basic ideas here, both of which require a good understanding of the market on your server.

buy low and sell high is a tried and true one. Herbs for example. If an herb (or ore, or…) normally goes for 30gold a stack and you see that someone has dumped a bunch of stacks for 5 gold, buy them up and resell them (or send them to your favorite scribe.) If prices are starting to look depressed then just hold those items for a few days and keep a close eye on the AH. Post them at a higher price when the market allows.
Find holes in the market and fill them. If a certain glyph is rare and selling for a high price then see if you can make a few of that glyph and sell them for that high price. Same with herbs. If the market needs a few more of a certain herb, because prices are so high, go out and farm a few.

Your banker: Lastly, consider using a low level alt to do all of your buying and selling. It’s less distracting than if you use your main character, plus you’ll be able to focus on making gold and not spending it on better stuff.

Just make a level 1 character to be your “Banker” and run to the nearest big city and park in the Auction House. Next have your main character mail your banker some starting money (for auction fees.) Then as your other characters collect sellable loot and limited items they mail all of those items to the banker for resale.

Players not wearing any pieces of the appropriate armor set will see their damage greatly reduced. For each piece of the appropriate armor a player wears, their damage against the boss monster will increase.

We all know that people who do warhammer power leveling are called farmers. I don’t want to say how much this concern with Chinese history cultures, but I have to admit that in warhammer, warhammer power leveling lives the life of poor farmers who have nothing but their poor land in old China. They just power level the character or make money, without saying anything to players around even that speak to them. They do not need friends. If they do anything that is concerned with team, it is concerned with making money too.
Farmers don’t wanna know what team spirit is, they just wanna money. To some degree, warhammer power levelingeffaces the sense of playing MMORPG like warhammer. This has a few obvious benefits, as Verimonde points out: More trickle-down items from raiding - non-raiders, be they alts, friends, or just random AH patrons, get access to a few raid items More excitement - even if nobody needs anything from the boss, there's still a chance to get a potentially lucrative BoE (and badges, of course) Another income source for raid guilds Although it isn't mentioned specifically, I expect that this wow BoE epics philosophy will extend to all raid bosses in Wrath. I think it's a nice idea. Let's say the average 10-man boss has a 12-item loot table and drops 2 items from it plus badges. If one of these items is made BoE, there's roughly a 17% chance to get it, which sounds reasonable. My question: what will raids' loot rules be for wow BoEs? My guild typically does open rolls for wow BoE epics items that aren't needed by anyone present, so that's probably what we'll do. But how will DKP guilds handle it? Will people who need it for their alts get precedence? Will they be auctioned off and the funds added to the guild bank, if nobody needs them? I guess it'll vary depending on the guild. But between these wow BoEs and Heirloom items buyable with badges, raiding is going to be a lot more interesting for those of us with many alts.

You must now be an officer or the leader of a rank 16 guild or higher to enter. Combat and Careers Bright Wizard • Scintillating Energy: Fixed an issue that was causing the stun component of this ability not to function. Content • Chests located in Dark Elf chapter 14 will no longer try to attack players. • Silversong Bladesingers: These NPCs were not intended to drop any coin or loot items, but were doing so anyway. This issue has been fixed. • The warcamp guards at Kargrund’s Stand have been adjusted to be the desired difficulty level. Items • Might: This Engineer epic quest reward item has been fixed to have the appropriate stat bonuses. • Bonus effects granted by certain weapons will no longer persist after the weapon is removed, or stack when zoning. Quests & Public Quests • Falling Stars: Fixed an issue that prevented players from obtaining this quest after abandoning it. • Fragile Light: Lithsantis Valewarden will now respawn properly • Wyrmbreaker: Fixed an issue that could prevent players from obtaining this quest after abandoning it. • Out of Favor: Fixed an issue that could in some cases prevent players from being able to complete this quest. • A Question of Digestion: Fixed some missing waypoints in this quest. • Power Hungry: Fixed an issue that was preventing players from completing this quest. • Cleaning Up Saphery: Fixed an issue that was causing players to become stuck on the quest. • Hallenfurt’s Appeal: Fixed a missing waypoint in this quest. • Blood on the Steps: The Bloodherd Guardians for this Bastion Stair dungeon quest will now once again spawn. • Cleanin’ Up Kadrin: Yorri Bristlebeard will now give players the items that they need to complete the quest. • Strike Them Blind: Use of the “Force Assignments” quest item will now step the quest properly. • Vermin High Elf: This quest will no longer automatically complete itself automatically without offering a rewards window. • Arkaneth Vermin: This quest will no longer automatically complete itself automatically without offering a rewards window. • Ascension: This quest will no longer automatically be abandoned if players use the incorrect quest item. • Dance of Bones: This Public Quest no longer progresses automatically in the first stage due to ambient monster behavior. • The Cliffs of Vaul: Fixed an issue that caused the counter on the first stage of the Public Quest to de-increment when a monster killed a non-player. Will we get the patch 3.0.3 wow tomorrow? All of us are not sure about that, someone tell that wow patch 3.0.3 will release before the WOW WOTLK launch, and for this wow server maintenance, hope we will get the patch 3.0.3 wow. Blizzard has announced wow server maintenance for Nov 4th. This is not particularly surprising considering it's a Tuesday, but we don't know yet if we're getting patch 3.0.3 wow or not. It's a little unlikely since it isn't an extendedmaintenance, but only time will tell. If patch 3.0.3 wow does hit tomorrow, we'll be sure to let you know and do our very best to gather up all of the information you need. The first warhammer live event coming with the warhammer patch 1.0.4, will this warhammer witching Night event bring someing great news? Go ahead~ A chill is in the air. The twin moons Morrslieb and Mannslieb wax full, bathing the land in an eerie, pale light. The furtive footfalls of creatures unknown crunch on dead leaves deep in the dark woods. Strange apparitions half-glimpsed between the skeletal limbs of trees wander in the shadowy hollows. The souls of men are filled with dread, for the Witching Night approaches! We are pleased to announce the first live event for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. The Witching Night will bring to life one of the Warhammer world's most mysterious and dangerous times of the year, when the veil that separates the realms of the living and the dead parts, and tormented souls wander the land in search of a peace they will never find. For some, it is a time to cower fearfully behind locked doors, praying to their gods for protection. For others, it is a rare opportunity to practice forbidden rites of dark power. Read on for a summary of the special features we'll be adding to the game in this dark season. New Conflicts The constant warfare and the approach of the Witching Night have awakened ancient horrors from their slumber, daring brave warriors from the armies of Order and Destruction to conquer them in the name of glory! Four new Public Quests will be added to the game, spread across all tiers and pairings. Unlike the game's current public quests, these will be set inside of the Open RvR areas, allowing players to compete directly against each other to earn influence that will earn them rewards offered by one of the new Herald NPCs we'll be adding to the capital cities. These new public quests are different in two important ways. First, they're located in RvR lakes, rather than in PvE areas. In particular, the locations for the new public quests are as follows: The Tier 1 Public Quest will be located in Chrace The Tier 2 Public Quest will be located in Troll Country The Tier 3 Public Quest will be located in Black Fire Pass The Tier 4 Public Quest will be located in Caledor Also, because of the special nature of these Public Quests and the rewards that players can earn by participating in them, the quests will reset less frequently than you might be used to. Expect a few hours to pass after a Witching Night Public Quest is completed before you'll be able to try it again. The Ghosts of the Fallen Keen-eyed players will spot the ghosts of fallen warriors roaming the battlefields of WAR. There one moment and gone the next, these fleeting apparitions are not hostile, but if caught and killed, they have a chance to offer one of the Witching Night's special rewards Beware the Witches! Witches and cultists long in hiding have come out to perform unholy rituals that capture the souls of the dead for some unknown, nefarious purpose. They gather around great cauldrons, chanting the names of blasphemous entities. Those who stumble across these secret cabals can free the trapped sprits of the dead and then claim their rewards for themselves. Courage has its Rewards The wearing of masks has long been the custom of Witching Night, and WAR will offer four such costume masks that players can obtain by participating in the event. These masks will be difficult to obtain: one is an Elite-level influence reward and the others are very rare drops on enemy players and the witches and ghosts who will inhabit the land for only this event. All four masks can be worn by each of the game's playable races. Also, a special cloak with unique art will be offered during warhammer Witching Night event, and players can also earn a unique title.
